These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Catholic Daily mobile application, published by ElBiblio ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Catholic Daily you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Catholic Daily provides
Catholic Daily is a liturgical reading and prayer companion app that helps you:
- Follow the Catholic liturgical calendar with daily Mass readings, feast days, and liturgical seasons.
- Read the complete RSV Catholic Edition Bible offline, with search, bookmarks, and text-to-speech.
- Pray with over 100 traditional Catholic prayers, the complete Rosary, and multi-language devotions.
- Explore Scripture insights and reflections to deepen understanding of the readings.
- Download additional Bible translations for offline use.
2. Your responsibilities
When you use Catholic Daily, you agree to:
- Use the app in a way that is lawful and respectful.
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app or its data.
- Not use the app's content or data for commercial redistribution without permission.
- Not attempt to overload, disrupt, or interfere with our servers or services.
3. No account required
Catholic Daily does not require account creation. The app stores your preferences and reading state locally on your device. Optional features such as sending feedback may transmit limited data to our servers as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Scripture and liturgical content
Catholic Daily provides Scripture text and liturgical information for personal devotional use. The app includes readings calculated through 2038 based on the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar.
While we strive for accuracy, the app is not an official publication of the Catholic Church and should not be treated as a canonical liturgical reference. For official liturgical guidance, consult your diocese or parish.
5. Spiritual content disclaimer
Catholic Daily offers spiritual, liturgical, and devotional content to support your faith life. It is not a replacement for pastoral guidance, professional mental health care, medical advice, or emergency services.
6. Intellectual property
The Catholic Daily app, including its design, code, original content, and presentation, is owned by ElBiblio or our licensors and is protected by relevant intellectual property laws. Scripture texts are included under applicable permissions and licenses.
You may use the app as provided and permitted by these Terms for personal, non-commercial, devotional purposes.
7. Offline content and downloads
Bible translations and other content you download for offline use are stored locally on your device. This content is licensed for personal use within the app and may not be extracted, redistributed, or used in other applications.
8. Availability and updates
We may update Catholic Daily from time to time to improve features, fix issues, or adjust content. Features may change or be removed. We do not guarantee that the app will be available at all times or free from errors, although we strive for reliability.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Catholic Daily is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will meet all your needs, be error-free, or be uninterrupted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, ElBiblio and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data arising from your use of Catholic Daily.
11. Termination
You may stop using Catholic Daily at any time by uninstalling the app. We may discontinue the app or restrict access where required by law or to protect the integrity of our services.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or the relevant app store listing.
13. Governing law
The laws of the jurisdiction where ElBiblio is primarily operated will govern these Terms, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
